Overview

Alphana makes it easy to edit and create clips directly from your video's transcript. Follow these steps to leverage the transcript to generate the exact clips you need.

Watch this 2-minute video to learn how:

For more information about creating clips and changing aspect ratios, click here.

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Access the transcript:

    • Alphana automatically transcribes all videos you upload.

    • Open the transcript in a new tab to view it with timestamps, speakers, and text.

  2. Select the text for your clip:

    • Find the start and end points of the text you want to clip.

    • Example: Select text starting at 1:09 and ending at 2:01.

    • Make sure to include the timestamp at the beginning of the next sentence to capture the full context and provide a clear end point for the clip.

  3. Copy the text:

    • Highlight the desired text in the transcript.

    • Click "Copy" to copy the selected text.

  4. Create the clip:

    • Click "Create New" in the Alphana dashboard.

    • Select the "Clips from Timestamps" AI card.

    • Use the following prompt to generate your clip:

Create a single video based on the start and end time of this snippet from the transcript: [paste the copied text here]
    • Ensure your timestamps are included in the prompt.

  5. Generate the clip:

    • Click "Generate" to create the clip.

    • Alphana will find the selected moment and generate the clip for you.

  6. Review and download:

    • Review the generated clip.

    • It will come with a title, a short description, and options to export in different formats.

    • Click "Download" to save the clip for uploading to social media.

Example prompt:

Create a single video based on the start and end time of this snippet from the transcript: From 1:09 to 2:01

Tips:

  • Make sure the start and end timestamps are accurate.

  • Include complete sentences to ensure the clip makes sense.

  • Always include the timestamp at the beginning of the next sentence to provide a clear end point for the clip.

Note: Currently, you cannot edit the captions or transcript. We will release an update later this year with the ability to do this.

By following these steps, you can easily create clips from your video's transcript, making your content creation process faster and more efficient.
