TL;DR: We’ve had ongoing problems with the YouTube importer because YouTube has made changes that block us and others from downloading videos. So, we’re now shifting our focus back to new features like transcript editing, webhooks, and AI video generation. We’ll keep looking for a fix for YouTube in the future, but in the meantime, tools like 4K Video Downloader or iTubeGO can help you get your videos. You can also still manually upload your video or audio file to Alphana or connect your Google Drive, Dropbox, Instagram, or OneDrive accounts to import videos. If YouTube was very important to you, you can get a refund. Thanks for understanding and supporting us! - Sebastian

Hi there,

Thank you so much for sticking with us. Your support means a lot to me and the entire Alphana team.

I’m writing to update you about the YouTube importer.

As you may know, YouTube doesn’t offer an official way to download videos, so we’ve had to create workarounds to keep the YouTube importer working. Unfortunately, each time we make progress, we face new challenges that set us back. This has been tough for our small team and has slowed down our work on other important features.

The core purpose of Alphana is to take a single video and turn it into 30+ pieces of content. While the YouTube issues have been frustrating, Alphana’s core functionality remains fully intact when you manually upload videos or connect to other platforms like Google Drive, Instagram, OneDrive, and Dropbox.

Moving forward, we’ve made the difficult decision to focus on building new features instead of continuing to fix the YouTube integration. We’re excited to work on things like editing transcripts and captions, improving language options, AI video generation, webhooks, and more. Our goal is to keep helping you create amazing content more efficiently.

While we'll keep an eye out for a for YouTube imports, we recommend considering tools like 4K Video Downloader or iTubeGO on AppSumo to get your YouTube videos. These tools specialize in video retrieval, while Alphana excels at repurposing and creating new content from them.

I know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear, and it’s not the update I hoped to deliver. So sorry about this. Our team has been working tirelessly to find a solution, and I would much rather have had this ready for you.

If YouTube was a core feature for you and you feel Alphana no longer meets your needs, I completely understand if you want to request a refund. For AppSumo customers, please log in to your account to request a refund. If you purchased directly from our website, log in, visit the Billing page, and cancel your subscription. Once you’ve canceled, please send us a chat message, and we’ll process your refund manually.

Thank you again for your continued support and understanding. We have a lot more in store, and I hope you’ll stay with us as we continue to grow and improve.

Best,

SM
