Bring your own lyrics to a lyric video. Upload a timed SRT or LRC file and skip transcription entirely, or paste the plain words and let Magic Align time them to the song.

What's New in Visuals

Your lyric video can now use your lyrics.

Until now, every lyric video started the same way: Visuals listened to the song and worked out the words and their timings on its own. That goes fine on a clean lead vocal. It goes less fine on ad-libs, stacked vocals, slang, or a song in another language, and then you were the one fixing lines by hand.

Now you can bring your own words. There are 2 ways to do it, and which one you reach for depends on what you already have.

Bring a timed lyrics file

If the words for this song have already been timed, you don't need Visuals to time them again.

Upload an SRT or LRC file, the 2 standard file types for subtitles and lyrics, and transcription is skipped entirely. Your timings are used exactly as they are. Nothing gets re-guessed, and nothing drifts off the mark you already set.

This is the option to use when the timing is the part you care about most.

Paste your lyrics and let Magic Align time them

Most of the time you have the words but not the timings. That's what this is for.

Paste the plain lyrics in, and Magic Align matches them to the song for you. Visuals is still listening to the track, but it isn't guessing at the words anymore. It knows exactly what is being sung, so all it has to work out is when.

That's the difference this makes. Ad-libs stay ad-libs. A second language stays in that language. Names stay spelled the way you spell them.

One rule of thumb: if the timings already exist, upload the file. If all you have is the words, paste them in.

Also fixed

  • Undo starts fresh after an import. Before, you could undo your way back into a half-imported state and end up with a mess. Now your undo history resets cleanly once the import is done.

  • Pasted lyrics clear when you switch to a timed file. Paste some words, then change your mind and upload an SRT or LRC file instead, and the pasted text goes away. The two can't fight over your timings.

  • Pasting lyrics now starts the alignment. It didn't always kick off on its own before. It does now.
