What uses Visuals Credits

Visuals Credits are used when Visuals needs to generate or process something.

Common actions that use credits:

  • Generating images (Cover Art & Images, posters, artwork, thumbnails, etc.)

  • Generating video motion (Spotify Canvas & Loop Videos, image-to-motion)

  • Rendering/exporting video projects (when exports are included in your plan)

  • Using higher-cost models or longer video durations (when available)

Actions that typically do not use credits:

  • Browsing Explore

  • Viewing your Catalog or My Library

  • Downloading previously generated assets

Where to see your Visuals Credit balance

You can see your current credit balance in the top navigation inside Visuals. You’ll also see the credit cost before you generate, so you can confirm the cost before running a generation.

How credit costs are calculated

Credit costs can vary based on what you’re generating.

Examples of what affects cost:

  • Video duration (longer video = more credits)

  • Model selection (some models cost more)

  • Output type (image vs video)

Visuals always shows the credit cost before generation runs.

Monthly credits and resets

If you’re on a subscription plan, your credits reset on your billing cycle.

  • Monthly plan credits reset each cycle

  • Unused monthly credits do not roll over

If you need more credits before your reset date, you have two options:

  • Buy one-time credits (12-month packs)

  • Upgrade your subscription plan

What happens if you run out of credits

If you run out of credits:

  • You can still view and download assets you already generated

  • You won’t be able to generate new assets until you add more credits or your monthly credits reset

Buying one-time credits (12-month packs)

If you’re on a subscription plan and you run out of credits, you can buy additional one-time credits.

How it works:

  • One-time credits last for 12 months

  • Your monthly subscription credits are used first

  • After monthly credits are used up, Visuals will use your one-time credits

This is a good option for months where you go over your plan.

Note:

  • If you’re on the Free plan, you’ll need to subscribe to a paid plan before you can buy one-time credits

Failed generations and credit returns

Visuals consumes credits when a generation runs.

If a generation fails, your credits are automatically refunded. This happens on its own, you do not need to ask us for it, and it applies to every kind of failure, including:

  • A platform or model error

  • A generation that does not complete

  • A generation blocked by a model’s content filter (for example a “content policy” or “portrait rights” message)

Credits stay spent only when the generation completed successfully, for example:

  • You dislike the result

  • The generation finished, but it wasn’t what you expected

You’ll see the refund reflected in your credit balance. If a generation failed and your balance does not look right, contact us and we’ll check it for you.

If a generation fails:

  1. Try it once more

  2. If it fails again, capture the error message (if shown) and the time it happened

  3. Click the chat bubble in-app and send us a message in the Intercom chat

Include:

  • A screenshot

  • The error message (copy/paste if possible)

  • What you were trying to generate (image, Spotify Canvas loop, lyric video, etc.)

Commercial rights and plan differences

  • Free plan: Great for testing and exploring, but commercial use is not included.

  • Paid plans: All paid plans include full commercial use rights. You own the assets you generate and can use them commercially.

FAQs

Do Visuals Credits roll over?
No. Unused monthly plan credits do not roll over.

Can I buy more credits if I run out?
Yes. If you’re on a paid subscription, you can buy one-time credits (12-month packs) for months where you go over your plan.

Do one-time credits expire?
Yes. One-time credits last for 12 months.

Do monthly credits or one-time credits get used first?
Monthly subscription credits are used first. One-time credits are used after monthly credits run out.

Can Free plan users buy one-time credits?
No. Free plan users need to subscribe to a paid plan first.

Do you offer bulk credits or lower pricing for high-volume teams?
Yes. If you generate a lot of assets (teams, labels, agencies, higher volume creators), reach out to our team. We can help you find the best plan for your volume and reduce your effective cost per credit.

Do I spend credits if I don’t like the output?
Yes. Credits are consumed when a generation runs and completes. But if a generation fails, your credits are automatically refunded, including when it was blocked by a content filter.

Will I lose credits if a generation fails?
No. Your credits are automatically refunded every time a generation fails, whatever the reason.

Can I use Visuals without uploading a song?
Yes. Many features work from a prompt and reference images. Uploading music is only needed when you want song-driven outputs.

How do I reduce credit spend?
Start with a clear prompt, reuse reference images for consistency, and keep your settings consistent so you don’t need as many retries.

What should I include if something fails?
Send us a message using the in-app chat bubble and include a screenshot and the error message.
