Use your own footage and spend fewer credits

Your own clips are free in lyric videos. How to swap footage into a template, pick and order clips before they hit the timeline, and where credits actually go.

Generating every frame is not always the cheapest or the best answer. If you already have footage, photos, or artwork, use it.

Your own clips are free in lyric videos

Using footage you already own in a lyric video does not cost credits.

Reframing is still charged, and only when it actually runs. If a clip does not need reframing, you do not pay for it. Nothing else about what a lyric video costs is different.

Note: Intelligent Reframing is off by default when you pick clips from your library. Clips you chose deliberately are left alone. Turn it on when you want it.

Picking several clips at once

In any media panel in the video editor you can:

  • Tick several clips at once

  • Play one in the panel before it goes anywhere

  • Drag them into order while still in the panel

  • Drop them into the timeline at the playhead, in the order you set, in one go

While picking assets for a lyric video you can see the clip order and drag to change it before the video is built.

Swapping your footage into a template

Open a template, click the clip you want to change, and swap your own footage in. You do not have to take the template apart.

  • Replace Selected. Pick several clips and swap them all in one move.

  • Use full length. If a clip was trimmed, one click restores its original length. Undo reverts it.

  • Your captions stay put. Swapping media keeps captions lined up, so there is no re-timing after each change.

Sending library clips straight into an edit

Select clips in My Library and send them into a new composition in one step, or into a new flow on the visual canvas. No downloading and re-uploading.

Other ways to spend less

  • Test at low quality. Quality and resolution settings are a price choice. Run drafts low, save the high setting for the version that ships.

  • Use a short clip well. A fill style lets one short video cover a whole song, so you are not generating a minute of footage.

  • Reuse references. Consistent reference images mean fewer retries.

  • Read the price first. Each card shows what it will cost and how many cards downstream will run before anything starts.

  • Extend instead of regenerating. An extension bills only for the seconds it adds.
